Wonderful, worth a trip to Hué all on its own.
Before coming to Vietnam and while putting together our itinerary, I wanted to pass through the city of Hué and stay exclusively in this hotel. So I made my reservation a very long time in advance and had opted for a standard/superior room booked on Booking for about a hundred euros a night with breakfast.
Upon arrival in early August, first pleasant surprise: we have the joy of being upgraded to a large suite! The pleasant surprises continued throughout our stay: the comfort of the room, the cleanliness, the magnificent facilities (TOP pool), the delicious breakfast, and the entire staff being very attentive (including Ms. Alice at breakfast!!!)... Everything was perfect.
We ultimately had a wonderful stay at the Indochine Palace, the hotel alone is worth traveling to Hué for.

So nice
We stayed in room 715 from 7/8 to 9/ with my family. This is the best hotel in Vietnam where I came. The service is the exellent and staff relly really good. Highly thank you Ms. Vy and Mr. Edward so friendly

Grand hotel
We only stayed here one night on route to Hoi An but I really enjoyed this hotel and felt we could have done at least 3 nights. The pool is really nice and the hotel is well constructed. It feels like it was built in 1920 with the high ceilings and generous communal spaces but apparently it was built in 2009! (That is what they told me anyway)
The breakfast was really good - lots of food and emptier than many other hotels we stayed in during this trip.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was huge with a lounge in the middle and a very reasonable price if booked through an OTA early enough.
On location we were not there long enough to really grasp it but location in Hue isn't quite as important as other places in my opinion. We were next to a pub where we watched Vietnam win their cup and the whole of Hue came alive within 5 minutes - a lovely moment and must have meant our hotel was realitively central!
Staff seemed attentive enough - like most in Vietnam. Would recommend

A real 5 star experience. Super service, great room (2 bed suite), wonderful pool. Breakfast very impressive buffet which coped well when very busy with a conference on our last morning. Very good location. Only slight downside was loud sound testing for an event when we were trying to relax by the pool one day.

Excellent accommodation
First class accommodation . Large swimming pool . Extensive breakfast . Staff helpful . Had packed breakfast as early flight to Saigon . Quiet hotel within walking distance of the busy town.
