Fairly basic, but serves as on route overnight haul

The stay was overall quite average. All the basic needs were met, and everything functioned as expected, but nothing really stood out in a positive way. The room and common areas gave the impression that cost-saving choices had been made, this was noticeable in the furniture and interior, which felt a bit worn and lacking in quality.
One thing that affected the experience more than expected was a slightly unpleasant, musty smell that was present not only in the room, but also in the corridor and even in the breakfast area. While the breakfast itself was quite varied and offered a good selection, the smell made the space feel somewhat fusty and not particularly inviting, which took away from the enjoyment.
On a positive note, the staff were polite and friendly throughout the stay, which is always appreciated and made interactions smooth and pleasant.
Overall, the hotel delivers on the essentials, but the atmosphere and interior details leave room for improvement. The hotel serves its purpose for a short overnight stay but do not expect hotel standards.

A passable motel near Oulu

This is more of a motel than a hotel. You can hear all from the next rooms and corridor. Very thin walls. The room was old and shabby. Bathroom not very well equipped (no hand shower). The bed was not very good, but the linen and towels were clean.
The breakfast was nice.

Barely

Barren rooms, soundproofing level zero, corridor light shines from the bottom edge of the room door, you can smell ray fungus in the washroom and the place advertises itself as a hotel. Matustajakoti would be a better name, although I have stayed in better guesthouses.
The staff was friendly and the price of the food was at least reasonable considering the quality.
The almost ninetieth price for a place to sleep was not right. In a pinch, yes, otherwise I'm happy to pay a little more for a couple more stars.

Place to spend a night? Find another place

88 € for a night is ok if you get a tidy room and a good sleep. But if there's none, you think you should have chosen better.
This is what happened to us. We drove from Helsinki to Kempele to buy a motorcycle and needed a place to spend a night. We arrived after closing time but it was ok, after reminding the stuff about our arrival, we finally got instructions and got in. The room was awful. Worn, broken, dirty. The bathroom was disgusting. Spider net, dust, dirt all over. At least the beds were good and linen clean. Unfortunately our neighbors were loud speaking ladies who spoke and spoke and the noise came through the ventilator and we could hear everything. Long trip behind so we had to shout them to keep quiet. Thank god they did but they woke up at 0730 and started to talk again.
The breakfast was good and plentiful. Home made bread was a nice surprise.
In the real life a place like that is worth 50€, not more. At least they should clean the rooms properly and fix them. I can give five stars to a hotel which is simple or modest but clean. This was awful.

Very basic

This is a place that I would not recommend for a holiday of a few days: it is large, ugly and very basic.
I do think, however, that for stopping over for a quick and good night sleep when E.g on a driving vacation or why not when travelling on business (most cars in the parking slot were in fact large vans), this not that bad a choice: easy access, plenty of parking space, the room were clean and beds comfortable.
Breakfast was ok and the price very affordable.
