Another enjoyable stay

We’ve stayed here on a number of short breaks to Dublin and enjoy it everytime. Sure it requires renovation but it’s a really functional hotel that ticks many boxes. It’s a great location, Free Parking, also bus stop on main road. Access to a pool and leisure facilities. Food is good whenever we eat in the bar or mcgettigans. staff are pleasant and helpful. Thanks again Bonnington!

Overpriced and in need of an upgrade

I stayed here recently for one night. As prices go in Dublin it’s fairly competitive but overpriced for what you get. This hotel advertises as a 4 star but is not even 3 star quality. It’s very run down and in need of a makeover. We had a double room with a non accessible balcony outside. The balcony was littered with empty bottles, rubbish and moss as shown in the photos. The window in the bedroom was splattered with dried in bird droppings, clearly there for some time. The shower was a disaster with very little power and splattered hot and cold, similar in other rooms guests said. Windows elsewhere in the hotel were also steamed up with paint cracking. Breakfast was very average, some of the fruit was tinned & the coffee was from a machine and tasted awful. Staff were friendly. The bar area in Mc Caffertys was nice.

Thank you Bonnington!

Stayed here for 5 nights during a visit to Dublin for the Dance World Cup. After reading some reviews, I was very concerned to what we would find but our stay was absolutely fine. The room was a twin room (bonus that one of the beds was a double) everything was clean and tidy. The bathroom and bedroom itself were very good sizes. Never felt too cramped.
We didn't have breakfast here but there is a Centra store next door with a deli counter, so we got our snacks from there. My daughter used the pool several times during our stay and said it was a very good space.
There is also a lovely bar onsite called McGettigans. Not sure how closely linked to the hotel it is in terms of staff or ownership, but the food and service here were also great.
My only reason for 4 stars was the lack of air con in the rooms. It did get extremely warm in the bedroom. I worked 2 days from my room and struggled even with the fan. But let's face it, we'd moan if it was cold so cant please everyone. I think that as a 4 star hotel, air-conditioning would be expected.
Dont be put off by negative reviews. This hotel was perfect for our needs, great location and so easy to travel on the busses to other areas of Dublin.

Dance World Cup visit

Great location. Bar, breakfast, leisure centre and cleaning staff fantastic. Front of house not so much.
No air con, and no extractor fans working. 4 of us crammed in a room with no air con and only 1 fan. Requested a fridge 3 of our 5 days and promised but nothing delivered.
Asked for a second fan twice and only delivered the last day.
Breakfast was great, pool was an added bonus.
The location is ideal with a shop next door and ample parking, we found a spot every evening.
Could do with a tidy up and air con installing.
Special shout out to the bar staff for their hospitality and the cleaning staff for being so helpful.

Expensive but worth the price.

Front desk were awesome. They suggested room 89 which had great air-conditioning. food beverage expensive but staff were very helpful.
