Once and never again
Room too small, no possibility to hang anything up as there are no hooks or anything else available
Bathroom is just a disaster - disgusting-
At night until 4 a.m. no thought of sleep - loud music -
Breakfast: Jam loose note on it, so nothing

Unfortunately a big disappointment – lots of potential, but not recommended
The room was musty, dusty, and overall not clean. There was mold in the bathroom, and the ventilation did not work. The window was also in very poor condition. Overall, everything seemed very run-down and neglected.
Since it was barely bearable in the room, you had to open the window in the evening just to get some air. However, this made it even louder: There was an extreme amount of noise coming from the ventilation/air conditioning unit opposite. In addition, the room was very thin-walled. The loud music from below, voices, and the general noise made sleeping practically impossible. On top of that, there was cigarette smoke from outside.
Of course, you know that you have to expect noise when staying at accommodation right on the Reeperbahn. That is not even my primary concern. What really disappointed me was the condition and, above all, the lack of cleanliness.
I think that a lot could be improved with relatively little effort. A bright, fresh coat of paint, a thorough cleaning, and, above all, a well-maintained bathroom would already make a big difference. Cleanliness is the be-all and end-all for me – sometimes that is all it takes for you to feel comfortable in a room.
In my opinion, the hostel definitely has potential, especially because of its location. Unfortunately, this potential is currently not being utilized at all.
I have experienced A&O differently and have been quite satisfied with the brand until now. However, I would not book this hostel again and, unfortunately, cannot recommend it in its current state.

Ugly. Stay away.
It was so dirty everywhere!
Our room was not cleaned. There was clean bedding, but everywhere was dirty. Even the toilet board was stained.
