Small hotel near the Außenalster

We visited Hamburg and the Aussen Alster Hotel on our 60th anniversary. Wedding anniversary .
The location is great ! only about 15 minutes to the outer Alster, boats, pier and restoration.
Also from the main station it is only a short way or by bus line 6.
Since I am a hamburger myself, I still know my way around. However, live
since September 1965 in Münster/Westf.
The room and bed was great, large and pleasant. Breakfast was served as a buffet.
The hotel had a garden to the back where we also had our window and you could sit, eat and drink great. There you could , if you liked also outside breakfast.
The staff was nice and always approachable.
For the wedding day, the hotel had 1 glass of sparkling wine.
Next to the hotel was also a restaurant (Tapas) , hotel and restaurant belong or work together.
But I am always drawn to Hamburg and more often.
I can recommend the hotel

Disappointing

It was booked with balcony, parking and sauna none of it I got for it was the bed sheet dirty, desk with seating there was also not only a 10 cm deep board which was screwed in front of the wall, the windows are old and very nice only extremely leaky and it pulls cold air in, the grab bar in the shower which is life-threatening which wobbles and you can already see the plastic dowels in the GK wall, in the entrance area you are barked directly by 2 giant dogs.......

Can I recommend and will come back

The location in the OT St. Georg is optimal. Restaurants and eateries for every taste within walking distance. Getting there by train is straightforward. 15-20 minutes walk or 2 stops by bus. Our room was very clean, the bathroom very clean and quite large. The staff is very friendly and happy to help. A small minus is the lack of a wardrobe in our room. Whether this is similar in other rooms I cannot judge. As an alternative to a cupboard, there is a niche with clothes rail and 2 shelves. For a longer stay there is simply too little space for the clothes. Breakfast was rich and suitable for every taste. The public transport is very well developed and the Hafencity and Speicherstadt can be reached directly. All in all, the accommodation is highly recommended and also ideal for dog owners because of the proximity to the Alster.

Serious defects lead to immediate trip termination – Pending credit

Our planned weekend stay from 03.10. to 05.10.2025 had to be cancelled after just one night due to a chain of unacceptable circumstances.
Already at check-in there were uncertainties about the agreed price, which left a first negative impression.
The problems continued in the assigned room (No. 23 or 25): This was visibly unclean, dirty and messy when moved into – a condition that cannot be tolerated in the hotel industry.
In response, we were offered an "upgrade" in Room No. 38. Unfortunately, this room was also deficient, as rainwater entered the room at night. These serious deficiencies in two consecutive rooms made it impossible to continue the stay.
We therefore had to leave early. After consultation with the management, we were assured of the full credit of the accommodation price and this transaction was acknowledged via the card terminal.
Negative point Service: Despite the clear commitment and receipt, the promised refund has not been received on my account to date. Failure to deliver on the commitment further affects the already bad overall experience.
Conclusion: Due to the massive defects in terms of cleanliness, condition of the rooms (water ingress) and the subsequent non-refund I cannot recommend this house.

Stylish little hotel on Hamburg’s Aussenalster

Chic, small, stylish hotel on Hamburg’s Aussenalster. Breakfast very good, everything with it. Room very nice quasi decorated in English style. Easy. Problem alone is finding a parking space if you arrive by car - definitely try to get a place in the parking garage 200 m away!
