An absolute gem in a brilliant location
What a joy to stay at such a lovely hotel with vegan ethics and sustainability at its heart. As a vegan this was the first time I have stayed at a fully vegan hotel abroad. I stayed in a Seed Suite - beautifully presented and spacious. Nice and quiet especially at night too which is a plus for relaxing. The family have created a wonderful sister hotel to Goji Vegan Hotel also on Rhodes. Every member of the team working there was so very welcoming and friendly. I loved the plant based bathroom products and the fact they care about the environment by not changing towels and bed linens every day. Well done! The food is some of the very best vegan cuisine I have tasted anywhere. Absolutely brilliant chefs. Try the cookery class if you go - highly recommend. A couple of things could be tweaked- somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom so you don'thave to use the two little clothes hooks on the back of the door, a bedroom chair - perhaps a tub chair - to put your clothes or dressing gown on at night time. Otherwise everything was amazing. Thank you all so much for a wonderful stay. I will be back to see more of beautiful Rhodes.

“A Gem in Rhodes – Perfect for Vegans and Food Lovers Alike
We had a wonderful stay at Acai Hotel in Rhodes – a stunning new hotel with an entirely plant-based restaurant that exceeded all expectations.
Breakfast each morning was a generous platter spread, beautifully presented and the perfect start to the day. In the evenings, the indulgent 3-course dinners felt like fine dining every night. The highlight for me was the crispy feta roll starter – honestly to die for! It had the perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, crunchy, and creamy textures.
We also tried brunch during our stay and it was equally delicious. The Golden Bliss pancakes were light, fluffy, and heavenly – a real treat. Huge compliments to the chefs for such creative and indulgent food.
The staff were wonderful – warm, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made the experience feel extra special.
I’d recommend Acai to anyone visiting Rhodes, vegan or not – it’s a unique gem. We can’t wait to return!

Highly recommended vegan hotel in Greece
What a lovely small vegan hotel in the capital of Rhodes island, Greece, a short walk from the nearest beach! Perfect affordable accomodation for vegans, with absolutely lovely, welcoming and very helpful and accommodating staff.
We had the Seed Suite and it was spacious, comfortable and clean, with plenty of storage space, including a clothes rack and lots of hangers. There is a kettle, espresso machine, electric cooker, pan, bowls and cutlery, and a hairdryer. On the balcony there is a table and a couple of chairs and a washing line.
Food is delicious and unique.
Breakfast was amazing, a big platter of goodness every morning. Something savoury like a pie, chickpea tagine or beautifully seasoned cooked veggies plus loads of fresh fruit, slices of bread and little pots of butter, tahini and jam.
Wait wait, that's not all! You also get a dessert (amazing filled crepes on our last day!). Can't ever go hungry at Acai Hotel.
A couple of times we had to leave for day trips before breakfast starts at 8.15 and we were given a huge bag of food to take with us each time! We just had to let the staff know a bit in advance.
Our only complaint really would be the weak coffee offered at breakfast time but you get coffee pods in the room so not that big a deal.
For dinner, there are lots of starters to choose from (my favourites were crispy feta roll, grilled salad and Acai salad). There are 5 main courses plus chef's special of the day. Things like veganised Greek dishes, pastas, pumpkin steak, mushroom stew. All super healthy, no junk food or fake meat here.
Then there are 3 desserts to choose from (best: Acai cream).
If not having lunch in the hotel, I can recommend a lovely vegan/vegetarian café nearby called ONO, walking distance. One day we were in a village called Kremasti towards the airport, about 15 mins drive away and we had delicious vegan pita gyros for only 4 EUR each in Kalagris Cafe Bar. Staff are wonderful there.
The hotel staff absolutely exceeded our expectations and made us feel so welcome. Genuine hospitality and kindness, brilliant service!
The hotel is easy to get to from the airport. If not hiring a car or using a taxi, you can take bus 51 (EUR 3.50 per person, can pay cash on bus). Buses are not very reliable though and few and far between so renting a car to explore the island is highly recommended!

The perfect vegan vacation
A holiday we will not forget & definitely return to!
As a vegan travel is planned with food in mind. Of course you can go to big hotel chains and see what they offer extra for vegans, but for me going on vacation means indulging and having all the options and it’s so nice being at a place with people running and visiting the place with the same morals.
So we booked the Açai, before it even opened. It was a 10/10 experience. I only write this review now because I’m so sad we needed to leave.
Hotel: so beautiful. Rooms are so serene, bed was fantastic! Everything so cozy, we felt very comfortable. We had the Seed Suite.
Location: perfect! It’s 5 min to the beach! Walking distance to shops or also places where you get oat iced latte. Simply perfect, if you love to go on walks.
Food: the star of the show. We booked breakfast and a three course dinner. The breakfast is different every day, you get a big plate to share in the middle of the table with fruits, bread, spreads, pastry, salad. I personally love this instead of a buffet, because it makes you appreciate every dish more.
Dinner is a highlight. We loved the starters (the Greek village salad, the feta, the eggplant and more). The mains were also fantastic they offer every day a chefs recommendation which is a vegan version of a Greek dish, we tried it every day and it was delicious and a nice way to eat local food vegan.
The staff / vibes:
Such lovely people working there, I wanna highlight Memel which was so sweet and put a smile on our face daily!
Ideas to even make this experience better:
- the coffee in the morning was self service and not super strong! We’d love to see a nice espresso machine to order specialty coffee and pay extra.
- I’m exited what they will do with the roof, so far there is not much, but a chill out area maybe with drinks even would be nice!
