Maximum bang for your buck in cool Upper West Side
Just finished up after 5 days in New York City, the Night Hotel Broadway was our perfect base!
If you're looking for a flashy & luxurious hotel then the Night is not for you; but if you want a big clean room that's serviced every day, a cheap price (for New York), & a great location, then read on!
Access from LaGuardia is easy, take M60 bus for $3 to 106th & Broadway, then just 10 minutes walk (or $8 + tip Uber if you have big bags).
It's an old hotel, no denying it. The elevators clunk & shake as they move, but there are 4 so never much waiting. The room has a super comfy bed, decent shower, TV, & coffee maker. The only downsides are the a/c is an older type so quite noisy, & there's no fridge, which would have been handy.
The location is excellent. Upper West Side is away from the chaos, scammers, & price gouging of Times Square. It's a more residential neighborhood with everything we needed close by. Less than 5 minutes walk to 96th St station which takes you downtown, Central Park just 5 minutes in the other direction.
The hotel has no bar or restaurant, but this is fine. Golden Apple Deli is right by 96th St station where you can get a fantastic 'Bodega' breakfast Bagel of sausage or bacon, egg, & cheese for less than $10 including a coffee. Half a block up from the hotel, towards Central Park, is WS Deli that is even better & cheaper.
Broadway is lined with bars & restaurants, every taste & budget catered for. On Amsterdam, just a block away, is The Dive Bar, a classic New York Saloon with a great selection of Craft ales at inexpensive prices. We visited 4 days out of 5, either after touring or before dinner.
So there you have it, the Night Hotel Broadway. Fantastic value in a great location, an aging Grande Dame who still has plenty to offer. We would definitely stay here again

The hotel was a bit dated and needed some minor cosmetic upkeep, cracked drywall and peeling paint . The bathroom is awkwardly small ,!Overall the bathroom, bed and room were clean so it did deliver on those things. Would I stay hear again? Maybe , either way I’m not running to this place or away from it so take that for what it is, from a random person reviewing a hotel online.

Room was clean but small. We never had hot water, the best temperature was warm, most times, it was cold.

It's well located, staff is good.
NY is expensive and it's a decent place. Improvement is required on maintenance, door and shower were rusty and not working properly.

Rooms are a bit out dated and a little noisy.
AC didn’t work really well.
Neighborhood is nice and the hotel is well priced.
We were out all day and would easily walk back or catch trains.
