We arrived on the Ember Bus and it was approximately a 5 minute walk (with cases) to the hotel. The hotel staff were welcoming and we were able to check in early as our room was ready. Room was very clean, beds comfortable. We flew out the next morning, too early for breakfast but a continental breakfast was available. Great proximity to Edinburgh Airport, I loved being able to walk to the airport rather than wait for a shuttle.

Great location
I was invited to the Royal Garden Party so my husband and I decided to drive down the day before to make it more relaxing.
When checking online the Hilton Hampton and Hilton Double Treetops were coming up as the same price. However the Hampton Hilton includes breakfast where as the other hotel this was an extra charge. So we opted for the Hilton Hampton.
We arrived at lunchtime and got checked in which was great.
We stayed in room 114. The bed was comfortable, it has tea, coffee and a hairdryer. The shower was fine and the room was clean. We had no issue with noise.
In the reception area the chairs could do with a clean as they stained.
In the reception area there is fridges were you can serve yourself, buy toiletries and a Starbucks. Plus there is a mini library.
The staff on the bar weren’t very cheerful. Which is a shame as we have always found the staff to be friendly.
On our first night we both went to order the curry as this is my go to favourite dish at this hotel. The waiting staff came over to tell us they had none left after we had paid. So we ordered the steak pie.
The gym at the hotel is very good.
The breakfast selection is also very good with the choice of hot and cold food. Plus the lady on breakfast is friendly.
We had lunch on our second day at the hotel and chef done an excellent job with the chicken and bacon panini and my husband had the chilli backed potato.
Overall we had noticed the hotel had gone down a little bit.
In regard to the location for the hotel we found great, for getting to our event, plus we were flying out the next day so it’s just a short walk to the airport.

Beyond pleasantly surprised
Once you land, you’re a short walk to the hotel. Welcoming and friendly staff made this stay a pleasant surprise on a quick getaway to explore this magical city. Stay in and dine or take the train or easy coach bus (very affordable) into the city center. Worth the price for the convenience and great hospitality. Will be back again

The exterior & lobby/restaurant area are all lovely & welcoming. Our room however was very grubby. Not a housekeeping issue as the surfaces, floor & beds were all spotless but more of a maintenance issue i guess. So many stuffs & scratches on wall of room, shower tray was badly stained & worn.
Staff at front desk on multiple occasions were disappointing. Late at night around 11:30pm after arriving back from a show, my keycard had been deactivated. I queued at reception for 20 mins before getting resolution. There was only 1 family in front of me waiting to be checked in.20 mins it took for the staff member to do so. Not once did he make eye contact or even acknowledge the large queue behind me also waiting.Same after check out the next morning,i tried to get my luggage from storage & while one person was taking forever to check someone in,another had their head in a computer & chatting away laughing to another staff member,completely ignoring me.I was in a time crunch to catch my flight.
In addition there is a snack bar in the lobby but we were told we couldn’t purchase anything from it at 11:30 as there was nobody to ‘scan them through’? Yet the bar & front desk were all open. It shouldn’t be advertised as 24/7 if its not
