Quiet but loungeless
We stayed in the top floor apartment.
The apartment and rooms were very large. Our host was accommodating with our schedule which helped as we were coming up from split with several stops and not a real good idea of when we would arrive.
The best part of this apartment was the quiet. This is in a quiet part of town on a dead end street. The bedroom window faces to the side of the building and not the parking area. We were the only apartment on the top floor so no noise from above or to the sides. The apartment has a yard on one side and a garden on the other so nice view and quiet. I'm a light sleeper and that is the main reason we chose this apartment.
We had a very restful night.
The curtains in the bedroom are thin so if the morning sun wakes you then you'll want to hang towels over the windows before you go to sleep.
The bathroom is large and modern with plenty of space. There is a washer and dryer though we didn't use them.
The kitchen is also large and modern with plenty of space. There is a store nearby where you can get everything you'll need for breakfast or dinner.
We walked to the old town taking advantage of the "boat-ride men of Zadar" taking us to and from the city. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the boat. Then a short row across the channel to the old town. The host will give you directions which are pretty easy.
The reason we did not give 5 stars, is that per the description in booking.com there was supposed to be a lounge with tv area. They still have pictures of this with a comfy couch and chairs. The lounge has been closed and locked off. So there was no comfortable place to crash when we got home. Small thing but it was one of the reasons we chose and booked this apartment. We're only up for an hour or so when we get back and we look forward to crashing on the couch, relaxing and winding down. Another small thing is that they locked the 2nd bedroom. Sometimes if one of us is restless we'll sleep in another room. When booking a 2 bedroom apartment we expect, well, 2 bedrooms. We found both of these issues to be dishonest and disappointing. Probably should have asked for a discount given this but didn't think of it at the time. That being said, we did get a good night sleep.
Note on directions: both our gps and google directed us to a location about 2 blocks west of where the apartment is. We had used the street view in google to see the apartment so we were ready for this and ignored the GPS for the last 2 blocks. This would have made it very hard to find if we weren't expecting this.
