Perfect hotel in a wonderful city!
Thank you for a wonderful stay. This hotel is perfectly situated 5 minutes walk to the old town and excellently placed for transport. It is comfortable and spotlessly clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was amazing with so much choice including freshly cooked pancakes, fresh fruit, hot food, breads and pastries.
Our riverside room was fantastic and air conditioning meant we could leave the windows shut eliminating all road noise.
Book direct as you get good prices and a free drink. We couldn't have picked a better hotel. I am sure we will be back as we adored Riga.

Until this stay, we were returning guests at this hotel.
We wanted to book our stay directly with the hotel, but we decided against it because they offered excessive rates. Consequently, we booked a room with riverside view and spa access via Check 24. The disaster began at check-in. The overwhelmed-looking receptionist claimed, despite our reservation confirmation, that we had booked a standard room without riverside view and spa access. As a result, we were given a hole of a room with a window that could not be opened. A broken bathroom door/mold in the bathroom. The view was of a ruin instead of the river. I complained in writing and only received compensation from the tour operator. The hotel shifted the blame onto the tour operator. The lady acting as Front Office Manager provided very poor customer service. This place will never see us again, and I can only strongly advise against booking here.

OK, but disappointed in the lack of the promised pool.
They advertise a swimming pool, but it hasn't been open for a while. I think they shut it down to better promote their spa service, which is $100 USD. False advertising.
They put me in a second building behind their building facing the river. It seems older and the view I had was of walls and a bit of walkway. The room configuration was kind of squirrelly.
The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel is quite convenient to the Old Town, which was quite nice, but lots of cobblestones, and the hotel is walkable to the central train station, bus station and shopping centers. So good location, but ask for the main building and don't bother to bring a swimsuit.

A huge disappointment
A huge disappointment
I booked a 4-night stay at the Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel at the beginning of July mainly to enjoy its spa, which is the highlight presented in the hotel's description. What a surprise it was to discover upon our arrival that the thermal area was closed for maintenance from June 29 to July 10, as indicated by a simple sign at the reception.
I find it completely incomprehensible to schedule such a significant closure in the middle of the tourist season. Such information should be clearly indicated before booking, as it completely changes the choice of hotel. If I had been informed, I would never have booked this establishment.
The room is very ordinary and does not justify the price asked. The bath towels are so small that it is impossible to wrap them around your head after a shower, which is surprising for a hotel of this category.
As for the staff, they lack warmth and a sense of service. We received neither genuine apologies, nor any goodwill gesture, nor any offer of compensation for the closure of the spa.
I leave with the feeling of having paid for a service that was not provided. Choosing a hotel with a spa and not being able to access it is unacceptable. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel and advise future travelers to ensure that all advertised facilities are actually accessible before booking.

Walking distance to the nice places
Great hotel, new and clean. Spacious breakfast room with plenty of choice. Air conditioning worked well. Parking is around the corner, costs €15 per night, not too much with proposals. Bit separate that cleaning the room is not included, you have to ask for fresh towels.
